57 books down!

Hello Everyone!
I finished Lord of Misrule which is the fifth in the Morganville Vampire Series. In this one Amelie and Bishop are still at battle and at the end something frightening happens...
Bishop takes over Claire/s mind and turns her to his side! And take Shane and his nutso dad and puts them both in a cage thing and Shane hates his dad! And Bishop brings Michael to the dark side. And Claire and Eve get separated! to much going on!!!!! :) Oh and by the way all of the books mashed together but i think this Lord of Misrule is the book where Shane says I LOVE YOU to Claire! Finally :)

It is possible to lead a cow upstairs...but not downstairs.

56 books down, 206 days to go!

'How are you gonna finish this thing?' you might ask. Well, we gotta try.
And that's what we're doing.
I (Lizzy) finished two books.
I finished Feast of Fools and Julie of the Wolves.
Feast of Fools is the fourth in the Morganville Vampire Series. In this book Claire goes to a big fancy ball where Amelie's dad is celebrated and each vampire takes a human. Little do the humans know, they are Bishop (Amelie's "dad") food of choice. Does that makes sense? Well, anyway, I have more exciting parts of the book to share with you. CLAIRES PARENTS MOVE TO MORGANVILLE.
Ahhh!
Not good! Could that be then ending of Shane and Claire, the cutest couple in all of the fiction world surrounding us???!!!!
Nope. We love them to much, and apparently so does the author.

Julie of the Wolves is a totally confusing book I read for English class. Miyax, a beautiful young Eskimo, has her world torn apart. I don't even want to try and describe it so....:

Plot summary

The story has three parts, from her present situation (Amaroq, the Wolf), then a flashbackMiyax, the Girl), and finally back to the present (Kapugen, the Hunter).

The story opens with Miyax alone in the wilderness studying the wolves. She has been alone for some time, having run away from home to get to San Francisco (the details of which are elaborated on in the flashback). This first part of the book shows how Miyax seeks help from the wolf pack and how she is gradually accepted into the pack. She studies the gestures and "language" of the wolves and learns to mimic them. By adjusting to their living patterns, Miyax makes herself less threatening to the alpha male, whom she has named Amaroq. At first their interaction takes place at a distance, but by watching Amaroq's pup Kapu retrieve regurgitated food, she is able to approach another wolf and induce him to regurgitate a portion of pre-digested food. In this way she gains acceptance as a part of the pack and is able to eat and stay alive.

The second part of the book is a flashback of Miyax's past. It is revealed that her mother died, leaving her with her father, Kapugen, whom she adores. Her father teaches her many things, including how to survive in her Arctic surroundings. One day, her Aunt Martha comes and tells of a law that Miyax must go to school and that Kapugen must go to war. Kapugen tells her that if anything happens to him or if she is unhappy, she can marry his business partner Naka's son, Daniel. Miyax lives in Martha's home in the town of Mekoryuk while she attends school under her American name, Julie. Martha soon reveals to Julie that her father is thought to be dead. Julie gradually accepts her father's absence, and adjusts to her life among the Americanized Eskimos. She eventually agrees to be pen pals with Amy Pollock, who lives in San Francisco. Soon Julie is offered to marry Daniel, since she was of age. She accepts and is transported to Daniel's village. Julie realizes that Daniel has problems, but is comforted by his mother. However, when Daniel attempts to rape her, she runs away for San Francisco to live with Amy, and changes her name back to Miyax.

In the third part of the book, which returns to the present, Miyax follows the wolves, who help her in times of need, but realizes that the wolves are in danger as it is hunting season for the humans. She strikes out on her own and begins to live off the tundra with greater ease as she travels south, continuing her friendship with Amaroq's son Kapu. Soon after, Miyax witnesses hunters in a plane shooting at her beloved pack, killing Amaroq and wounding Kapu. Grief-stricken, Miyax nurses Kapu back to health until he can become the alpha male, then Miyax forces her pack to abandon her for their sake. Miyax builds a life for herself, but soon discovers that Kapugen is still alive and hurries to meet him. Initially overjoyed to be reunited, Miyax is shocked to find Kapugen remarried to a white woman and to have forsaken the ways of the Eskimos, including owning a plane for hunting. She departs from her father's house with the intent to live alone on the tundra but decides to return to her father, as "the hour of the wolf and Eskimo is over."

Hey!
I finished the third in the Morganville Vampires Series.
In this one, not much happens. Well, nothing catastrophic.
Claire accepts the Protection from Amalie even though she is now forced to do WHATEVER she says.
Claire takes classes with an old, dangerous, crazy, knows-he's-crazy-but-wishes-he-wasn't genious vampire who has been trying to find a cure to the desease vampire have that will soon wipe out the population of vamps.
That's pretty much it I think. I'm not sure because when you read such a good series, everything blends together and it's like one big movie, excellent and real.

Every year, kids in North America spend close to half a billion dollars on chewing gum!

54 books down, 216 days to go!

Hey Everyone!
It's Lizzy S. I finished the Second book in the Morganville Vampires Series, Dead Girl's Dance.
This book was almost as thrilling as the first but you were on the endge of your couch, which i only kind of liked. I'm all for Shane and Claire, but with Shane captured and Claire risking her life to save him, I just got so freaked. I loved Shane, but I really did think he wasn't going to make it, though of coarse he did.
Also, some big things happen to half-dead Michael... well one big thing, that doesn't involve Eve. Can you guess? Well, I'll tell you. He becomes a....

If you would like to know scroll down

Vamp!

Hahaha! Yay! No he can actually step foot out of the house! Whoopy! Kind of.

Eve is doing pretty good in this book, she get's a job at Claire's University. Yay! Again, kind of.

You see, thing is that a big part of the story was forgotten/ left unanswered. Eve's brother (17) is a murderer and he got out of jail and came to the town, but eventually we forgot about him. And that was that. He was still in town but... the author just stopped talking about him. But I can bet that's what the next book is about, right?
Right?
Yes, Lizzy, Right.
Well, thanks for reading.

Hey! It's Lizzy.
For my English class I had to read a historical fiction book and write about it on a homemade book mark. So for my project I decided to choose a book that would scare me, Before We Were Free. I really hate historical fiction books, but this wasn't so bad.
This book wasn't for boys (talks about first period, "growing up", and something like a first love) and it was a little frightening but you can't help but really feel for the main character, Anita.
Anita is living in the Dominican Republic in 1960 and 1961.
She is not free in her country and her father and uncle fight back, willing to get themselves killed for freedom of their country.
When all of her family moves away from her big housing complex she is alone until her "first love" moves in.
Then her sister is forced to move to the U.S. (illegally of course) because the leader El Jefe was a molester of young girls, and he had his eye on her. Then it's her brother's turn to leave.
Soon Anita was living in hiding at a friends home.
Eventually she makes it to the U.S. to get some horrible news.
Her father and uncle, who were being held in prison, were shot.

Well. That was grim.
As you can see, I write kind of choppy when I'm thinking about such disturbing things.
